SPIN Gets Star Struck
Stargate: Atlantis, the popular Sci-Fi Channel series, has a stunning effect on crewmembers and fans alike, thanks to the digital effects of SPIN. In a joint production with the Vancouver and Toronto offices, SPIN's Keith Adams supplies the firepower for the series most-threatening menace, the Wraith.
In the episode "Suspicion," a new menace is introduced that has weapons with the ability to leave a person temporarily paralyzed. Working in Inferno, Keith combined artwork and sapphire effects with warping and glow techniques to build an electrical force field being launched from the Wraith guns.
Stargate: Atlantis is the spin-off of the Sci-Fi Channel's most popular series, Stargate SG-1, which follows four explorers to distant worlds. Stargate: Atlantis, has been the #1 Friday night entertainment program (non-sports) on both cable and broadcast with males 18-49 since its July 16 premiere. SPIN creates visual effects, animation and design for commercial, television and film projects from concept to final delivery with studios in Atlanta, Toronto and Vancouver.
