Five Seconds to Air
"Things were just starting to settle down as we approached the holidays," says Guillotine Post Co-Owner/Producer/Editor Michael Koepenick, "and then we got the call from Disney Channel. They needed a music video promo cut in two weeks, but they wouldn't be able to shoot most of the footage until 5 days before we had to ship it out to hit the air on New Year's Eve!"
Koepenick and fellow staff editor Christo Harris got to work immediately editing the song "Do You Believe In Magic" and working with the latest cuts of the original movie "Now You See It" soon to premiere on Disney Channel. "One of the challenges on this kind of project is that the movie is still not finished while we're cutting," says Harris. "We didn't get the final color corrected version until the day it was due to be delivered in Burbank California."
"Due to snow storms and holiday overloads we were faced with an over-night shipping fiasco," says Co-Owner/Director of Operations Scott Stevens. "No one was guaranteeing next day delivery, so we used our website for up to the minute reviews and then sent the final spot through VIVEX at Crawford's satellite operations. It's amazing to see the master tape sent real time over the wires and immediately in the clients hands Ð it's the closest thing to magic I've seen in a while!"
