New Concoters at the Lab
LAB 601 breaks out the big guns with the hiring of account manager Nancy Bielenberg and project manager Natalie Sperrazza. Bielenberg brings over 14 years of broadcast television experience to the job, while Sperrazza has an extensive production and broadcast background along with outstanding client service experience.
Prior to joining LAB 601 Bielenberg worked as ABC News' Technical Director, a Project Manager for The Discovery Channel, an Executive Producer for Craig Miller Productions, the Director of Sales and Marketing for the commercial production companies Wide Open Pictures and Synergy Films.
Sperrazza joins LAB 601 from Turner Studios where she was a scheduling coordinator. She was responsible for managing and creating all client and staff schedules as well as coordinating client requests for resources. Prior to her position as scheduling coordinator for Turner Studios, she served as a post-production coordinator for Cablevision Rainbow Studios in New York City.
LAB 601 didn't stop the bulking up with new personnel. The company also completed expansion activities on three new high-tech, full-service editing suites. The expansion increases LAB 601's space by nearly 50 percent, equipping their 16,000 square foot operation with nine video and one audio suite, expanded graphics production capability, and new film production offices.
"We are experiencing explosive growth in our customer base and need more space to serve our new and existing customers," said Pete Ballard, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, LAB 601. Ballard envisions the new edit suites to be a "home away from home" for traveling filmmakers from New York or Los Angeles who are temporarily working in Atlanta. Access to these editing suites guarantees top-notch resources and equipment.
The first editorial team to benefit from these high-end, innovative editing suites is the group working on the full-length political thriller "Fatwa." Director/Producer, John Carter, makes his directorial debut with this feature film about eight lives intertwined in the 36 hours leading up to a fictional terrorist attack on America. Wide Open Pictures' Brian Gurley DP'ed. LAB 601 is providing postproduction supervision and facilities, HD finishing and visual effects, and sound design. Dennis Hill (Van Wilder, Powder, Major League) is editing the film. Eddie Horst will score the film.
