CineFilm recently installed the new Panasonic AJ-HD1200AP DVCPRO HD VTR, which allows CineFilm to offer clients transfer to and from all current HD formats. "This addition to our D5, HDCAM and HDCAM SR decks allows CineFilm to truly be a one-stop shop for our customers," says Jim Ogburn, customer service manager.

The Panasonic AJ-HD1200AP is a versatile deck that offers up to 92 minutes of HD playback and recording. In addition to 1800/59.94i and 1080/50i, the deck supports variable frame rate over 720/59.94p recordings created by Varicam. As well as being able to play back the entire family of DVCPRO tapes, the AJ-HD1200AP has a built in HD/SD down converter, and also offers the world's first HD-compatible IEEE 1394 interface.

CineFilm uses the Teranex system for conversions from HD to SD as well as SD to HD. The addition of the DVCPRO HD deck will allow CineFilm to meet the needs of any customer, whatever their format of choice.
