The Atlanta office of Edelman is welcoming back an old friend, as Christina Smedley rejoins the company as senior vice president/creative director eastern region, a new position within the company.

Smedley is an Edelman veteran. She served as business group director of 20 people in consumer marketing in the company's London office from 1994 to 1999. With her team in London, Smedley provided strategic direction for a wide range of consumer brands encompassing creative direction, media relations, crisis and issues management, as well as growing client relationships. She was part of the team that led Edelman's consumer and technology convergence with Ericsson, which became one of Edelman's top ten global clients. She worked on many multinational and pan-regional accounts during her tenure at Edelman.

Smedley left Edelman to join amazon.com, where as director of international communications she was responsible for the brand's communications activities in France, Germany, Japan and the UK. Smedley will begin work immediately on Edelman's consumer brands accounts. She will provide her expertise and support to the Atlanta office and its accounts and begin work on executing Edelman's Brand C.A.R.E. programs for clients throughout the nationwide network.
