005 was Houghton Talent's best year to date. The firm saw their most local work ever in film, TV, industrial, print & VO. In addition, they submitted more tapes & booked more jobs outside of Georgia than ever before, including work in places such as FL, AL, MS, New Orleans, NC, SC, TN, VA, even the Midwest. The company joined SAG/AFTRA. Their union status doesn't affect talent status if the talent is non-union, but does offer greater access to out of town jobs and productions that come into Georgia. There should be plenty of new work in the state, as the production incentive bill passed, and can already be seen improving production in GA.

Sally Neal came on board in the spring to run Houghton's VO department. Neal offers a wealth of knowledge and is generating activity in all areas, raising the bar significantly on fees, terms, and the talent pool. Christy Clark, formerly of Genesis, was hired as a new agent to book film/TV. With a stellar reputation in the Southeast, Clark is opening some doors that will make a huge difference to Houghton's talent. She also books commercials and industrials, and she runs camera for quite a few auditions.

Finally, Houghton purchased a condo at Wrightsville Beach, NC that will be made available to talent going to audition in the Wilmington, NC area.
