Richard Dreyfuss in the House Richard Dreyfuss in the House
It was quite a night for Director Rachel Lyon. Not only was it the screen ing of part of her documentary, “Mr. Dreyfuss Goes to Washing ton,” but she had a night all her own, hosted by Crawford Communications.
The documentary, featuring a behind the scenes tour of our national capital, was co-produced and hosted by Award winning actor/history aficionado, Richard Dreyfuss. Lyon edited the piece, which aired on The History Channel, at Crawford’s facilities. Jesse Crawford, who worked with Lyon when she was a senior producer for Ted Turner, said “Rachel has always worked hard to deliver interesting programming that satisfies the viewers’ need to get beyond the story. She is one of the greatest producers within the independent production industry and we are very lucky to have her here in Atlanta.”
Lyon currently acts as President of Lioness Media Arts, Inc. She has produced 4 features, 60 documentaries, and two series covering a gamut of subjects including child molestation, black market trading of plutonium, Tibetan emigrants, and fundamentalism. She is a professor at Waleska, Georgia’s Reinhardt College and is overseeing construction of a new performing arts and media center at the college.
Of his first stab at documentary production, Dreyfuss said “Working with Rachel and Lioness Media Arts has been a tremendous experience for me. As my first foray into producing a documentary, I’m proud of the job we’ve done and the quality work delivered in terms of the production, writing, editing, music, and directing.”
