Harris Digital Media (HDM) has acquired the assets of MPL-Atlanta, a branch operation of MPL Media head quartered in Nashville. MPL-Atlanta provides analog videotape duplication, packaging, distribution and fulfillment services as well as CD duplication and replication. Under the terms of the acquisition, the company will be called Harris Digital Media.

HDM will combine its digital services including DVD authoring, compressions, interactive CD production, and web enabled streaming media services to create a multimedia production and distribution company. With the acquisition, HDM will have the machinery and capability to mass produce VHS copies and will own a Digital Betacam, D-2, DV, and Betacam SP.

HDM President, Tim Harris said, “This acquisition provides HDM with the tools and expertise we’ll need to move our clients from the analog to the digital world. The existing client base, as well as, new clients will be able to get all the services they need to execute their media communication strategies all under one roof.”
