Three veterans of CNN and Turner BroadcastingRick Salcedo, Mark Ogden and Danny Sullivan – have come together, launching Springboard Creative, which steps onto Atlanta’s tableau as a provider of marketing & promotion tools for broadcast and cable television stations and networks.

Rick Salcedo came from his position as CNN’s Senior Vice President for Marketing & Creative Services. Salcedo brainpowered CNN’s on-air promotion and marketing efforts during the networks’ gilded period from 1990-2001. Working alongside Salcedo was Mark Ogden, who served as Creative Director and then Director of Programming for Turner Private Networks. Danny Sullivan also worked with Salcedo as head of marketing and operations and most recently Director of Consumer Marketing for CNN Interactive.

The company, which puts its three principals on the other side of media, already boasts accounts with Turner Broadcasting, Scripps’ DIY - Do It Yourself - Network, Cox Communications, Mass Transit Network International and KCPQ-TV in Seattle. Non- broadcast/cable clients include Home Depot and TESA Entry Systems.

Springboard Creative Director Salcedo brings more than 20 years experience in the broadcast and cable network worlds. He began his career at NBC in New York, becoming Creative Director of the Network Advertising & Promotion group. He moved to CNN in 1989, just in time for CNN’s 10th Anniversary and the Gulf War. During his tenure there, he installed James Earl Jones as the voice of CNN and built a department of 45 people responsible for all consumer marketing and promotion for the entire family of CNN domestic and international networks and services.

Mark Ogden, who will act as Springboard’s Executive Producer of Springboard, began his career as a Writer/Producer for CBS Cable in New York. He was Manager of on-air promotion for Cinemax and Festival, and responsible for all advertising and promotion efforts for HBO as Director of On-Air Promotion. At CNN, he supervised the on-air promo group, helped create place-based services like The Airport Channel, and worked on the development and packaging of pilots and specials including the weekly documentary series CNN Presents. Danny Sullivan, Managing Director, also started his career at NBC in New York, moving eventually to the Network Advertising & Promotion department as Manager of Operations, where he first met Salcedo.
