Made-Up at the Atlanta Film Festival

“Made-Up, “ a mockumentary, hit the screen in June as part of the Atlanta Film and Video Festival. A comedy about our cultural obsession with youth and beauty and an examination of the creative process, the award winning film has a number of Atlanta connections.

The film is the directorial debut of Actor Tony Shalhoub (“Big Night, “ “Men in Black, “ “The Man Who Wasn’t There”). The film’s Atlanta connections are far and wide. Three actors from local improv theatre, Whole World, are featured. Jim Issa, Lance Krall and Kalen Conover, now in Hollywood, play a three-man crew filming the mockumentary Two of the film’s Executive Producers, Lois and Bob Weiner, are from Atlanta, as are the Co-Executive Producers Susan and David Kolb. Shalhoub’s sister Susan Larkin, an Atlanta based professional actress, (Theater in the Square, Alliance Theater Company, Atlanta Lyric Music Theater, Theater of the Stars) plays Shalhoub’s on screen sister.

The film won the Juried “Independent Voice Award” at the Santa Barbara Festival and the audience award at SXSW.
