It's moving day for Tim Harris and Harris Digital Media (HDM). The company packed up in late January to move to Tucker, GA to begin sharing space with Hands for Hire, owned by Harris's wife, Karen Lynn. Hands for Hire provides vocational training and job placement for intellectually challenged adults, including work in HDM's packaging and warehouse operations. The space saving merger will enhance the services of both companies, and operations will change little at either company from a client standpoint. HDM recently acquired the Pioneer DVR-7000 DVD-R/DVD-RW video recorder. The DVR-7000 allows the Atlanta firm to input any tape source machine, either composite, component, S-VHS, or DV, directly into a recorder and create DVD's for playback on computer or set top players. The new technology will allow easier DVD creation for clients wanting one disc for internal viewing or archive purposes.
