Hothead Studios in the Game

The team at Hothead Studios elevates playing with your food to an art this summer, unveiling "Feast or Famine, The Food Security Board Game," a new creation for the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The colorful board game takes students through "a month in the life" of a working poor individual, and is in its second iteration. The original game was created by Food Bank staff in the late 1990's and was used as a tool to educate students about hunger and poverty.

New and more engaging elements brought to the field of play by Hothead Studios include a full color vinyl board, fun food shaped game pieces, and new "Talk About It!" discussion cards designed to encourage dialog about hunger and poverty issues. The firm also helped create an in depth Teacher's Guide that outlines the game and gives teachers tips on leading discussions on hunger and poverty with their students. The limited edition game will begin softly rolling out in the spring of 2003 and will be initially distributed to Atlanta area schools familiar with the Hunger 101 project.
