Atlanta Celebrates Photography
A picture is worth 1000 words. The fifth annual Atlanta Celebrates Photography (ACP) festival will include more than 200 events, exhibitions and lectures. The fun starts October 3rd, and stretches for 30 days.
This year's festival features the transformation of more than 200 public spaces and retail outlets into galleries, each of which will be full to the brim with photography by local, regional and nationally known artists; a 24 hour all city photo shoot entitled "My Atlanta: A 24 Hour Photo Adventure" that will seek to capture a day in the life of our sweltering city through the eyes of its citizens; and a lecture series. Featured speakers will be distinguished Photographers Keith Carter, Lauren Greenfield and Pradip Malde, along with Educator/Consultant Mary Virginia Swanson. A "Meet the Artists" tour will give viewers glimpses of local photographic studios and personal work spaces. An event guide listing the month's activities will be distributed free across the metro area, and most events are open to the public free of charge.
