Former CNN Producer and Correspondent Kalin Thomas goes global this summer with her new production company See the World Productions. See the World will specialize in print, broadcast and online travel and lifestyle stories with an emphasis on multiculturalism.
As producer and correspondent for CNN's weekly travel program, CNN Travel Now, Thomas won numerous awards for her work from such notable organizations as the American Society of Travel Agents, Maryland Office of Tourism Development, Michigan Outdoor Writers Association, National Easter Seals and Atlanta Association of Black Journalists. Thomas's travels have taken her to six continents, including Antarctica, as well as destinations like the Caribbean, Argentina, South Africa and Japan. Before starting See the World Productions, she spent 17 years with CNN, where she produced and reported for medical, nutrition, science, and travel programs. Story highlights included tourism in the new South Africa, airline industry trends, cruising, physically challenged travelers, gay travel and Japanese culture and cuisine. Actively involved in her community, Thomas sits on the board of directors for The Association for Women in Communications, Inc. (AWC), and is a member of the Atlanta Press Club, Freelance Forum, National Association of Black Journalists and Toastmasters. Thomas received her B. A. in Broadcast Journalism from Howard University.
