ImageMill's Collaborative Spirit
Collaborative spirit keeps the ImageMill team grinding away as they cooperated with Sony HD Cam and Crawford Communications to allow five Georgia State film students to get involved in a live, high definition commercial shoot. The concept of the collaborative commercial is this: A man's basement living room gets flooded as a result of having older "internet pipes," a nice little visual pun that will promote consumer upgrade to DSL. To achieve the flooding effect, a 27 foot long swimming pool was constructed in the ImageMill parking lot, and an entire living room set was lowered into the cavity. Throughout the shoot, water was let into the pool, and onto the set, at various speeds. As a show of support for the Georgia State film department, one professor and five students were invited to attend the shoot, and had the opportunity to operate a high definition camera, and get an behind the scenes look at the making of a commercial.
