Downstream Film Festival
And now, to the delight of local screenheads inside and outside the perimeter, Atlanta's Downstream Film Festival kicks off the 10 day fest with a Georgia maker's "Gathering Point," presented by Downstream Film Festival, the Georgia Film, Video and Music Office, and Oz Magazine.
Beginning at 8PM (and raging on until 3AM) on September 12th at Eyedrum in the heart of Atlanta's gritty but growing east side, the festival's first night will include visuals by The Stimulator (a. k. a. Frank Lopez), live bands, DJs, impromptu performance art, food and beverages. Everyone's welcome, but all Georgia filmmakers, videomakers and digital mediamakers are
especially invited, and should be poked, prodded or otherwise coerced into attendance. Whether you are new to the scene, a commercial freelancer, a production company head honcho, or someone screening your own films in clubs and bars around Atlanta, it is an opportunity to catch up on what has been going on in the community and to meet those who are just starting to make their mark. All the festival parties and screenings are open to the public.
