Rollins Will Create the Iconologic Way
Big projects, big plans and big changes abound at Iconologic, as the branding and design firm fill their client roster and office space with new work and new faces. First is the arrival of Matt Rollins as Co-Creative Director. Rollins, who brings more than 10 years of experience to Iconologic, will collaborate with former Writer and Associate Creative Director Juliet D'Ambrosio to help administer the firm's creative team. Also changing job titles are Iconologic COO Ward Copeland, who will assume the role of Managing Partner, and Senior Designer Lea Friedman, who has been promoted to the position of Design Director.
On the project front, the Iconologic team, in conjunction with space designers from Atlanta based consultancy Tula, transformed nearly 3000 square feet of empty tradeshow real estate into a showcase for Milliken Carpet's hospitality division during the Hospitality Design Show held this year in Las Vegas. Part concise product showcase, part eye candy, the Milliken booth unfurled Milliken's Max system and a tantalizing preview of its new Luxe product line. Visitors walked down a central avenue of glistening birch wood flanked by 16-foot steel ramps with carpet racing skyward. Each ramp highlighted a separate pattern in the form of a human silhouette, giving the space a thrilling mix of contemporary aesthetics, palettes and inspiration.
Iconologic also recently helped the carpet giant unfurl its first carpet line dedicated to retailers, creating The Retail Revolution, a compelling position platform for the Milliken Carpet Consumer Environments business unit, helping the carpet maker to see its product more through the eyes of a savvy retailer, rather than a flooring producer. The "look of the revolution" features a palette full of primary colors, powerful typography and strong retail-centric imagery based on the look of consumer bar codes. The kit of parts includes a naming system for Milliken products that gives a nod to the often militaristic nature of the revolution in bar codes and numbers.
Iconologic has also developed two new websites to add to the firm's cache of successful Internet destinations. First is the firm's newest piece for Kilpatrick Stockton. Iconologic designed, programmed, and created content for the site, which has received an abundance of favorable responses from both clients and attorneys, including a WebAward for the effort. The site was named Best Professional Services Web site by the Web Marketing Association. And finally, in continuing involvement with the international Olympic Movement, Iconologic is also leading the redesign of the Athens 2004 Web site. The firm, along with the Athens Organizing Committee's (ATHOC) Internet Services Group, is redefining the entire online experience, including content, design, and functionality.
