Life Outdoors at Crawford

New hires, new projects, and a brand new image for an old favorite of the sun and ski set round out Crawford Post's calendar for summer's end.

Crawford Post Production, a service area of Crawford Communications, Inc., has added Tim Cowling as Senior Account Executive and James Knight as Account Executive. Cowling will work primarily on the high definition, 5.1 surround sound and long form markets, while Knight will target audio, DVD, HD and film.

Cowling brings to Crawford more than twenty years of industry experience and has produced, directed or executive produced more than 450 hours of factual television. His films have garnered ten Emmys, three George Foster Peabody awards, numerous Cable Aces and more than one hundred and eighty national and international awards.

Prior to joining Crawford, Knight worked in production at Cinepost Atlanta, where he coordinated the post production of indie films, music videos and DVD projects. In addition, he directed all film transfer and DVD projects. Before working at Cinepost, Knight was a producer at Fifth Wheel Films, Inc., a UK based music video production company, and was also an on air personality at 99X, Q100 and Z93 in Atlanta.

Just completed on the project list for Crawford was a renovation of the Outdoor Life Network (OLN) graphic branding package. With more than 1,770 hours of existing programming to refurbish, the massive project culled the talents of the Post team staff for more than 3,000 hours of video editing that began this May, and wrapped in October. Included in the re-do were new logos, bumpers, bugs, titles, credits, scoreboards and lower-thirds, provided by OLN.

Peter Sumph, Vice President of Network Operations for OLN commissioned the project, and credits Crawford's editorial staff, Ron Heidt, David Bush, Bill Bowan, and Tom Roche for their outstanding work on the spots. The project was managed by Glen Fisher, Director of Operations for Crawford Post Production, as well as Kenny Sloat, Coordinating Producer. Sheri Kidwell, Wil Madison, Steve Shireman, Kevin Powell and Chris Stockman assisted.

Finally, the Post team partnered with independent production company Echo Pictures to provide HD editing and post production services for nine half-hour episodes of Great Museums, a documentary featuring America's history centers. The program, now in its second season on PBS, highlights a single museum each episode and offers dynamic HD videography of featured collections, as well as interviews with museum experts. Museums across the nation from the Library of Congress in D.C. and the National D-day Museum in New Orleans, to the National Music Museum in Vermillion, SD are featured throughout the season.
