Say Cheese at Magick Lantern
Magick Lantern recently teamed with ad agency Bennett Kuhn Varner to create some television sorcery for client Black & Decker to promote the new Gizmo Cheese Grater in a nationally televised campaign. Magick artists brought the product to life by creating the slick little kitchen toy in digital 3D and having it "salsa dance" onto the set of three different television kitchens. The grater then lands into the talent's hands to help grate cheese onto entrees. Matching eye movement and hand placement were crucial to the success of the project.
Magick's team included Jesenko Fazlagic, who accomplished the Avid and DS editing, James Powell, who did the final DS compositing and finishing, Alphonso Dormun, who did rotoscoping and 2D graphics and Andrew Weiler, who created the Gizmo Cheese grater in 3D. Jennifer Mador managed the project for Magick Lantern. Other credits on the project include Cara Yesawich, Associate Producer Brian Waldrop, Art Director Allie O'Cane, Creative Director Danny Snyder, and Copywriter Adam Slater.
