Turner Studios didn't sweat it when they were asked to create a graphics package for the NBA Gatorade Tip-off, a half-hour pre-game show on TNT. The Turner Sports design team partnered up with Turner Studios to develop an open and package that pays homage to sponsor Gatorade's established design language, while capitalizing on the trademark drama of TNT's game coverage.

The Turner Studios Design department played off of Gatorade's "Is it in you?" ad campaign that features athletes against a black background dripping with neon sweat. The basketball scene was shot on 35mm film, with the set and talent doused with water to match Gatorade's sweaty style. The design team used Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects to enhance the film footage. The Turner Studios CGI team incorporated 3D animation to achieve splashy effects such as a spinning basketball bouncing into a pool of Gatorade. One shot from the original Gatorade ad campaign was used, but it was altered in Inferno to change the color of the player's sweat to match TNT's red and yellow signature colors.

Also new from Turner Studios are two recently completed 15 and 30-second promos for the launch of the Power Play Web site, a subsidiary of cartoonnetwork.com that sells computer games. To promote the new site, the Studios crew developed a concept that seamlessly integrated 3D graphics with live action footage. The timeline was short, so the Film & Video Unit saved time by shooting with its HiDef camera package instead of film. The result was a high tech spot that adds a human element to playing and purchasing games on the Internet.
