MANY WITNESS NO WITNESS
Green Valley Entertainment's new film "No Witness" boots Atlanta's placement on the cinematic map, as the picture was debuted lavishly at Madstone Theaters Parkside in early April, cast and crew in attendance.
Filmed entirely in and around our fair Hollywood South, "No Witness" tells the sordid story of an indicted Senator, Gene Haskell (Jeff Fahey) and his lackey (Corey Feldman) who hire a professional hit man (Steve Barnes) to clean up a few "messes," including removing a crime syndicate and kidnapping an underage girl who's obsessed with being the Senator's wife (Marisa Petroro). Several bodies later, the senator comes face to face with his past while trying to leave no witnesses.
Director Michael Valverde sought to give "No Witness" a distinctly "local" flavor by including shots of Atlanta institutions such as Fat Matt's Rib Shack on Piedmont Road, the Vortex in Little Five Points, Carpe Diem in Decatur, and the narrow streets and alleyways of the historic Fairlie-Poplar district downtown.
Cinematographer Keith Holland, who had worked with Valverde before on the feature film "Losing Grace," added his unique eye and vast experience to bring the director's visions into focus.
Aside from Holland, who came in from Los Angeles, the crew was entirely made up of locals, who came together under a tight deadline and a tight budget to give the movie its look and feel. In fact, "No Witness" was conceived,
developed, produced, and finished entirely in Atlanta.
As we always say: yea for the home team!
