PRSA Sweetens the Deal
Adding members to any professional association is always a challenge Ñ but the Georgia chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is attempting to make the challenge a bit sweeter.
The chapter's most recent monthly luncheon included a speech by Krispy Kreme director of marketing Steve Bumgarner entitled "Krispy Kreme: A Sweet PR Story." And the theme didn't end there. PRSA pulled out all the stops with some creative hosting tactics as well, including greeters and members dressed in bright green Krispy Kreme aprons, PRSA benefits flyers, and Taste of PRSA Membership applications delivered in little Krispy Kreme boxes (complete with a coupon for a free doughnut), doughnut-themed door prizes, coupons for a free dozen doughnuts hidden under 10 chairs in the room, and of course, a hot, fresh Original Glazed for desert.
The meeting had the sweet smell of success for the chapter, as a number of guest attendees indicated a commitment to join, and everyone who attended Ñ member and guest alike Ñ sang its praises and those of Krispy Kreme. Ah, the sweet smell of a successful recipe: teamwork and creativity.
