Artifact Adds and Edge
Motion design shop Artifact Design has
signed award-winning designer Ken Edge as a senior designer, says Ken Virgins, owner
and creative director at Artifact.
Edge, who spent most of the summer at Artifact as a freelance designer, was
previously with CNN. During his three-year tenure at the Atlanta-based news network,
Edge garnered three prestigious BDA (Broadcast Design Association) design awards for
his work on package design, title sequences, and bumpers.
Edge recently completed his first motion design project with Artifact for
Mountain View Productions, designing and animating a graphics package for The Coca-
Cola Company that will be used worldwide. He is also currently leading Artifact's
design team in creating 2D and 3D elements for a feature-length documentary directed by
Art Spigel of Los Angeles-based production company 7ate9.
In addition to being a talented and accomplished designer, Edge is also a gifted
musician. You can find him in Atlanta's local music scene playing bass guitar with his
band Self Help Tapes. Before moving to Atlanta, the German-born Edge lived in
Savannah, where he was a web designer for the comic book company Zylonol. He
received a degree in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
