ComGroup Reels In Awards
2004 Brings a virtual mother load of creative recognition to ComGroup, as the
agency's work scores big locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. (Oh, and
they've added a few new faces too. Read on.)
First, the agency started the year on a strong note, grabbing seven silver and seven
bronze awards at Creativity Atlanta's ShowSouth, the Southeast's premier advertising
competition. The agency took home medals for its work on ATC Records, the Grant
Park Conservancy and Oxford
American Magazine.
As a result, two print ads from ComGroup for Oxford, "Belt Buckle" and "Truck,"
have now taken home silver awards at the AAF 7th District ADDY competition,
ShowSouth's regional arm. The work then went on to be honored with a silver
National Addy.
The same work was then recognized again by Archive, The New York
Art Directors and the Photo District
News Photography Annual.
And finally, ComgGoup's ATC Records creative has been selection for
inclusion in the Graphis Design Annual 2004.
On the personnel front, Ben Whan Lee has joined the group as a senior
copywriter, Angela Devlin was hired as art director, and Jacqueline Scheider has been
promoted from account director to vice president/ group account director. Lee came to
Atlanta from a freelance background in Los Angeles, where he also worked for Lunch
Advertising in Santa Monica, and VitroRoberston in San Diego. His list of clients
includes ASICS, Baskin-Robbins, Red Bull North America, Delta Air Lines, and Yamaha
Watercraft. He is a graduate of the Portfolio Center and earned his BA in political
science from Kenyon College.
Devlin had also been
freelancing before being recruited
to ComGroup. Her resume includes stints with R&R Partners in Las Vegas and
Communiqué USA in Atlanta.
She is a graduate of the Creative Circus and has an advertising degree with a minor in art
from the University of Idaho.
Three-year employee Jacqueline Scheider's new job title includes responsibilities
in leading the account service department and managing all aspects of client
relations, including strategic
direction and tactical marketing.
The primary accounts Ms. Scheider will manage are ADT Security Services,
RockSteady, and Cox Communications.
Before coming to ComGroup, Scheider worked for Turner Broadcasting System
(TBS) and CNN as strategic marketing director.
