R!OT Atlanta
R!OT Atlanta recently designed and produced a complete on-air and off-air
graphics package
for the re-brand of Discovery Networks' Discovery Home Channel, formerly Discovery
Home & Leisure
Channel. The graphics package design was based around the notion of "process" and
coincides with the Discovery Home Channel's core programming categories of
decorating, landscaping, cooking, entertaining, home improvement, and how-to subjects.
In conjunction with the network's program categories, R!OT Atlanta associated the basic
notion of "Dream-Learn-Create" with Discovery Home Channel programming to create a
unique, easily identifiable look.
R!OT Atlanta Creative Director
Jeff Doud developed the graphics
package for this re-brand by incorporating a blend of multiples of three – creating a
salient conceptualization of Discovery Home Channel as a unified brand. Motivation for
the creative concept was Discovery Home Channel's desire for a clean, honest and
uncomplicated appearance.
R!OT Atlanta's Creative Director, Editors and Producers
worked on the package with
Discovery Networks executive Matt Palmer, Vice President of Marketing, Discovery
Emerging Networks;
and Falcone.
R!OT staff involved in this
project include: Gavin Holmes and David Robinson, Flame Artists; PJ Neely, Carlton
Eden, Matt Barron, and Rob Lederman, Editors; Nat Zimmerman, Producer; Beth Helmer
Executive Producer; Laraine Stewart, Coordinating Producer; and Doud.
Clean Cuts provided the music for the graphics, under the direction of President
Jack Heyrman.
