Anderson & Maddox Join R!ot
Continuing its recent growth, R!OT Atlanta has made two key staff appointments, hiring Brian Anderson as audio production manager and Debbie Maddox as sales and marketing director.
Anderson arrives from POP Sound in Santa Monica, California, where he was operations manager. He will schedule and oversee sessions for R!OT Atlanta's recently expanded audio post-production department, and will also serve as a liaison between the studio's clients and its technical staff.
Maddox comes from a similar position with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and brings diverse skills in marketing and advertising to her role. Her responsibilities will include overseeing R!OT Atlanta's sales and marketing effort, developing new business relationships, and promoting the studio's work and creative staff.
Anderson had been with POP Sound since 2000 and was responsible for scheduling, supervising support staff, and managing client relations. He has experience in audio production for both short-form media, such as commercials and short films, and long-form media, including episodic television and feature films. His background also includes posts with MTV Networks in Santa Monica and Laser Pacific in Hollywood.
"Brian's experience with national commercials, long-format work, and 5.1 mixing is a perfect fit for our audio department and falls right into line with our goals of pursuing higher end work and more original music," said R!OT Atlanta managing director Buddy Hall. "It's important to have someone who's been there managing our team, not to mention that it's just cool to see someone move from LA to Atlanta for a change."
In announcing Maddox's appointment, Hall said that he worked with Maddox on a variety of projects for the Journal-Constitution and in her previous position with Atlanta advertising agency Fletcher Martin Ewing, and valued her professionalism and creative approach to marketing. "It's a good sign when a client is interested in switching teams," said Hall. "I've always enjoyed working with Debbie and her experience was exactly what we were looking for in a sales and marketing director."
