PR Vets Launch Carabiner
PR veteran Peter Baron has formed a new PR and marketing agency, Carabiner Communications. Focused on serving technology start-ups, Carabiner specializes in linking clients to media and analysts, venture capitalists, customers, strategic partners and others using proven communication methodologies. The agency has already landed a number of technology clients, including Abbria, Encapsulon, FileVision, Prenova, Tall Maple Systems, Think2020 and Zvolve.
Baron, who has 20-plus years of high-tech PR experience, previously founded Atlanta-based SocketPR, which was acquired by Hill and Knowlton and is now part of Blanc & Otus. He was also a partner and VP at Alexander Communications (now Alexander
Ogilvy PR), and is a founding executive committee member of the Atlanta High Tech CEO Council. Over the course of his career, Baron has directed campaigns for such well-known clients as Apple Computer, Ericsson GE, Motorola and IBM. His earlier experience includes public relations work for clients at Cohn & Wolfe in New York City.
The Carabiner team is comprised of other high-tech PR and marketing professionals, each offering more than a decade of technology marketing experience. Senior members of the agency include Dana Cogan, formerly a VP at Blanc & Otus; Suzanne Moccia, formerly a senior account director with Alexander Ogilvy PR; Leslie Tentler, who served as a senior writer for both Alexander Ogilvy PR and Blanc & Otus; and Tara Leder-Biller, formerly PR manger for SPI Dynamics.
Carabiner capabilities include strategy development and market positioning, media and analyst relations, key message development, trade show and conference services, executive media training, and outreach to VCs and strategic partners. The agency is located in Northeast Atlanta.
