ASV Puts Fashion At Fingertips ASV Puts Fashion At Fingertips Macy's Herald Square in New York City features new state of the art technology completely designed and implemented by Atlanta's ASV Communications. ASV transformed the Macy's display windows into giant touch screens where passersby can interact with the SmartCube Theatrewall. By simply touching the glass, window shoppers can choose and interact with fashion videos featuring 3D graphics and animation. It has been a great success for Macy's and promises to be the wave of the future for merchandise displays. Lifescapes sells 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, attracts walk-by traffic, informs customers about products, and collects marketing data.

The Lifescapes hardware consists of a 17" ThruGlass Interface, Pentium Computer, LV-8000 Laser Disc Player, and a 17" Computer Display. It is an interactive store window that comes alive and displays products and fashions with holograph-like models on demand. Lifescapes combines two technologies to create the unique consumer experience. The interactive ThruGlass technology is available in three formats: touchscreens, PicturePads and KeyPads. The ThruGlass touchscreen mounts to the monitor and one can simply touch the window glass in front of the screen to interact with the display. Thick glass is placed in front of the touchscreen to make it vandal proof and weatherproof. PicturePads and KeyPads of different shapes and sizes can also be placed on the touchscreen. The projection video display technology is the new SmartCube Theatrewall. The wide aspect ratio combined with great picture quality makes it the heart of the Lifescapes project.
