Technical Industries Builds Olympics Broadcast Center Technical Industries Builds Olympics Broadcast Center Technical Industries (TI), a $40-million company, celebrates its beginning 60 years ago, a rare milestone in the audio visual industry. The company has evolved with technology over the past 60 years and its willingness to change has made it one of the South's leading sources of electronic presentation rooms, broadcast and professional video equipment, and interactive video and digital media equipment. Edward Matthews, CEO, believes Technical Industries will continue to grow and offer the technology needed in the 21st century. Part of that growth will be spurred by TI's continued association with the Olympic broadcast efforts. Technical Industries was selected by Panasonic to provide system integration services at the International Broadcast Center (IBC) for the Nagano 1998 Olympic Games. The company installed the broadcast equipment supplied by Panasonic and other manufacturers to complete the IBC, which acted as the nerve center for the broadcasting operation for the Olympics. Technical Industries also installed the venue control and data support center, which will process the broadcast signals and transmit them to the IBC. The equipment was staged and pre-installed at Technical Industries and was delivered to the broadcast facility in Japan, for final installation, testing, and training of personnel. Technical Industries also announces two appointments. Richard "Dick" White was appointed the Vice President of Technical Operations. He will administer the technical departments of the company, including service, engineering, and installation. In addition, Todd Allinger was appointed the Director of Engineering.
