Surround Sound, "Salsa" and Marching Bands! Surround Sound, "Salsa" and Marching Bands! Crosstown Audio will soon complete renovation on their recently acquired space, which is adjacent to their existing studios. The new addition will include a snazzy new reception area, office suites, a conference room, and more space for data storage. Crosstown Audio was also recently hired by IBM Digital Video Solutions, led by Dave Parrish, to design a 5.1 surround soundtrack for a DVD trailer that will ship with the ThinkPad computer, using a Euphonix CS2000 for surround mixing.

Crosstown Audio has also been doing work on Georgia Public Television's children's television show, "Salsa." While they all have been learning a little Spanish, Senior Engineer Nick Ketter and Engineers Rob Grable and Adam Wallace have been concentrating on dialogue looping, sound design, and mixing for the thirty episode season, taking between two and three days to dub all the character voices, create the sound effects and mix each show.

Work also continues on military simulation software for the Dutch Army and the British Army and Navy, which is produced by Lael Camak and Howard Bashew at FATS. Grable engineered the project.

Crosstown also recently completed mixing David Zeiger's film "The Band", which follows the members of the Decatur High School Marching Band through a school year. Ketter used SonicSolutions' NoNoiseª suite of audio restoration tools to clean up dialog recorded in many different locations and on several different formats.
