Kudos for GSU Web Site Kudos for GSU Web Site The Division of Continuing Education at Georgia State University was presented an international award for their web site from the Learning Resources Network (LERN) during the 1998 annual LERN International awards ceremony in San Diego, CA. Criteria for selection included innovative approaches, replicability, and cutting edge ideas. Selected from a field of more than 100 nominations, GSU's Continuing Education was one of the four organizations recognized for developing a system to register for classes on the Internet. Their approach was cited as "the way to win in the 21st century," and was said to provide an example of the direction that other organizations should pursue. Greg Treadway, Continuing Education's Marketing Director, designed the web site and online registration system when most American continuing education systems were still learning the new technology. Due to his pioneering efforts, LERN asked him to participate in an international online classroom focusing on the development and implementation of online registration for the field of continuing education.
