Camping Indoors at PC&E Camping Indoors at PC&E Bugs, cold and wet, no power, no phones, no restroom . . . .The list goes on. These are the reasons why Barry Thiessen, Producer for Rice Productions, decided to build an indoor forest inside PC&E's Sound Stage for a Cox Cable TV spot. The boards depicted an authentic camping scene, right down to the campfire. The talent's flashlight morphs into a TV control which clicks the night sky into a massive TV screen. Director Eric Rice flew the Arri 535B over 5,000 square feet of forest floor complete with pine trees. Next Wave-Atlanta posted 30 layers of green screen effects achieving gentle tree movements, stars, shards of light, and of course, a realistic video screen in the night sky. The effect created a truly believable outdoor scene. The spot broke in December.
