Dr. Angelou's sultry yet authoritative voice served as a narrative backdrop for an episode of the PBS series The Living Edens, produced by ABC/Kane and a Reader's Digest World Presentation. The episode, titled "Madagascar: A World Apart," travels to the piece of land that separated from Africa 125 million years ago and today seems to exist in the age of reptiles. The show was produced by Andrew Young and Susan Todd and is scheduled to air in November 1998. The series, The Living Edens, profiles isolated undisturbed corners of the globe. The series is scheduled to air on PBS through the year 2001 and recently was voted "Best Limited Series" for 1997 at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival.
Bob Gillespie, Owner and Sound Designer of Oasis Recording, engineered the "Madagascar" voice-over session with Dr. Angelou. Gillespie explains the swiftness and ease of the session due to the talent and professionalism of Dr. Angelou, Coordinating Producer Brent Pierson, and Supervising Producer/Director Ann Kim. Pierson and Kim work for ABC/Kane Productions International, the documentary division of ABC Networks.
