Tiles on a Budget Tiles on a Budget Cutbacks in the state funds affecting the production budget? No problem! The Georgia Department of Industry Trade and Tourism offered J. Walter Thompson their photo archives as a production resource for a new ad campaign. JWT devised a creative way to use the extensive slide library by translating the currently popular Photomosaic look into moving images. Approximately 2000 slides were chosen, then digitized and loaded into Flame at Click 3x. Each image was then graded by color and organized into bins by color family. Each photo acts as a tile drifting back to create a larger mosaic of a hero photograph. That hero photograph then does the same thing, it drifts back and becomes the first tile of the next large photograph. The visuals result in an updated form of pointillism.

Click's Tom Baker was Executive Producer and Producer. Alan Newsome developed extensive testing before the actual project which made the job much easier. Flame artists Jen Schiavone and Ben Orisich contributed many hours of production. JWT's Michael Lollis was Creative Director, assisted by Art Director Bill Cutter, Copywriter Page Ruddle, and Producer Angie Trewhitt.
