WestWayne, Inc. pumped up its creative muscle with recent hires. Ted Nelson joins WestWayne as Senior Vice President/Head Writer. Nelson, formerly Associate Creative Director at Pagano, Schenck and Kay in Boston, supervised work on Cross Pens, the Dexter Shoe Company, and Whistler Electronics. Although Nelson started his career with Arnold Advertising in Boston, his move to WestWayne marks his return to the South, where he spent most of his career including stints at Babbit & Reiman, where he was a Group Creative Director on such accounts as The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, GTE Mobilenet, and Days Inns of America. Nelson also worked at Earle Palmer Brown, Bethesda and Tampa, where he supervised the Roy Rogers Restaurants, The Florida Lottery, and Florida Aquarium accounts. His position is newly created and allows him to play a role in the creative department and new business efforts in Atlanta and Tampa. Nelson's work has been recognized by the top award shows in the country: The One Show, CA, New York Art Directors, Clio, Obie, National Addys, Hatch, and Show South.
Tim Smith joins WestWayne as Associate Creative Director. Previously he was a Senior Art Director with BBDO, New York. Smith has won various awards including <$f"Berkeley-Italic">Ad Age The Best Awards for M&M's, the London International Festival for Visa and several Addys. Some of Smith's former projects include Snickers, Hyatt, Pizza Hut, HBO, Haagen-Daz, FedEx, Visa, Lay's Potato Chip, and Russell Athletic. Smith taught at the School of Visual Arts, NYC, and worked as a Freelancer. Smith attended the University of Tennessee and Portfolio Center in Atlanta.
Beth Dzengolewski (Zing-o-lauw-ski) also joins as Associate Creative Director. She most recently worked as a Copywriter at TBWA/Chiat Day, St. Louis, where a recent campaign on which she worked, TRUE treadmills, was featurd in <$f"Berkeley-Italic">Graphis and <$f"Berkeley-Italic">Archive. Dzengolewski has also won several Addys and Marconi awards.
