interact.america Honored interact.america Honored TBS-17's "interact.america" was recently honored at the 21st Annual Pioneer Black Journalist Awards in the community and public affairs television reporting category. interact.america's winning show, "Tubman Museum," tells the story of African-American accomplishments and includes a compelling visit with an artist from the museum. The story was produced by Myrna Moore, Director of Community Affairs for TBS-17. Additionally, TBS-17's "African-American Moments" received an award in the category of public relations and television. They were produced by Karon Daniel, with Kenneth-Anthony Clarke as the Graphic Designer.
Michael Watchulonis, Producer of interact.america, was recognized by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for his story "MS Through the Eyes of A Child." The story was awarded first place in the 1997 MS Public Education Award contest in the general/lifestyle category by a panel of print and broadcast journalists. Watchulonis not only produces interact.america, but for the past three years, he has also served as a Field Producer and Editor for TBS Superstation's Black History Month specials. He produces and writes the show, reports and edits segments, and interviews studio guests.
