Busy Ears at Crosstown Busy Ears at Crosstown Crosstown Audio recently revised the Southern Region Council's 26-part radio documentary "Will The Circle Be Unbroken?" which is enjoying an encore broadcast nationwide on Public Radio International. Senior Engineer Nick Ketter is proud of the response Crosstown has gotten, both critically and from the listeners. "Will the Circle Be Unbroken?" received a Peabody Award for Excellence in Radio, one of only five radio productions selected this year.

In the world of DVD, John Lambert of Big Mouth Productions and Chris Hefferen of Spirit Chasers worked with Ketter to create a 5.1 surround mix used to promote Philips' DVX8000, a home theater unit which plays DVD discs, DVD-ROM discs, and standard audio CD's. Also in production was a recording of St. Luke's Episcopal Church choir mastered for National Public Radio's monthly program "Evensong," produced by David Hinshaw of Mud Puppy Productions; mixing and layback of a firearms simulation laserdisc for the Illinois State Police produced by Howard Bashew of FATS, Inc.; and a brand new baby boy produced by Jill Grable and engineered by Rob Grable. Crosstown also edited and mixed a ten minute program which premiered at the Fox Theater during the Georgia Council for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention's annual fundraiser. Produced by Susan Kanellos of Blue Moon Productions, the benefit was held in conjunction with the Atlanta premiere of Lost in Space. Grable explains that R.E.M. made their catalog available for the soundtrack.

On the corporate front, Crosstown NoNoised¨ and sweetened 2 hours worth of vignettes for IBM's Digital Video Solutions. The vignettes feature past and present golf legends, and will be on display at kiosks throughout the World Golf Hall of Fame. Also recently completed was editing and mixing of computer based training courses for Chubb Insurance and Kaiser Permanente. The project involved recording, editing, and converting over 1600 audio files. Finally, congratulations to Crosstown's staff and the WAGA staff for completing another round of sweeps for FOX5 Atlanta. The station, whose promotions department is headed by Kathy Soifer and John Kukla, is the number one Fox affiliate in the country.
