Maxcat Music won three Telly Awards. Composer/Arranger Dick Smith accepted awards for all three of his entries, custom music compositions for Turner Entertainment Group, BellSouth, and Imagemaster Productions. The Turner video was a sales tool to highlight the networks within the Turner family. From CNN to Cartoon Network to Turner Classic Films and TNT Sports, the music helped identify and underscore each network and provide continuity throughout. The BellSouth piece was a training and motivational video that used a catchy song to accentuate the visuals. Built around the tag line "Count On It," the song combined a violin, bass, congas, acoustic guitar, and a twenty piece vocal choir. Imagemaster's production, "Driving Ambition," was part of a regionally broadcast educational series focusing on teens and driving laws. The score was heavily guitar driven with a contemporary rock edge.
