Mindflex Inks Record Deal Mindflex Inks Record Deal New media agency Mindflex Interactive & Entertainment signed a deal with Beast Records, a division of Simitar Entertainment, to release an album tentatively entitled "Game Cuts." Slated for international distribution, the CD will include music from a cross-section of electronic game titles. Mindflex takes music from popular titles, reworking and remixing them into full length tracks. After initial research, selections were narrowed to game themes that lend themselves to a techno dance or rock n' roll treatment. Game Cuts will include current and old favorites such as Doom, Mortal Kombat, Final Fantasy VII, and Super Mario Brothers.
Earnie Earnest, Director of Music and Sound Design, explains that they are taking the music out of the game environment into a CD-quality world. Earnest and Audio Engineer Andy Ard will be responsible for most of the productions. Targeted at a pre-teen and teen audience, Mindflex's goal for the album is not only to enhance the enjoyment of the game, but to be successful as a stand alone product as well. Earnest comments that the fit with Simitar has been successful and explains they've had great success with dance compilation albums, including a current Top 10 hit.
In the personnel arena, Mindflex has hired Larry Melnick as its new Sales and Marketing Director. Melnick has years of experience in the television, radio, and broadcast industries.
