Todd-AO/Editworks Produces for Big Screen Todd-AO/Editworks Produces for Big Screen Todd-AO/Editworks teamed with the Coca-Cola Company to produce pre-feature spots for movie theaters across the country. Todd-AO, under the creative direction of Mike Tremble, designed and developed the spot for "Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker's Award." Coca-Cola established the award with the film schools of Columbia, NYU, UCLA, USC, and the University of North Carolina. Ten finalists were chosen and given a small budget to produce a :60 film relating to the movie going experience. Hollywood studio heads, high profile actors and directors, and the heads of the theater companies judged the finalists' films.

Todd-AO designed an opening featuring the winning student filmmaker, working with a theme relating to the print material already concepted. The design involved an effects shoot featuring the winning student, a full 3-D model of a film reel and film strip, and various titles, all at film resolutions and aspect ratios for movie theaters. Triple Horse Productions shot the effects, which were assembled in the Inferno and then output to film. The film was well received by Show West audiences, where the young filmmaker received his award. The complete "Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker's Award" debuted as a pre-feature entertainment piece on over 12,000 screens nationwide in April, making it one of the largest releases of any film. Todd-AO continues working with Coca-Cola on two more projects for their pre-feature initiative.
