One In The Can And More On The Way For American Artists One In The Can And More On The Way For American Artists American Artists Film Corporation (AAFC) completed an agreement with Crossing Point, Inc., a company headed by Dr. Steven M. Greer, an authority on the subject of extraterrestrial intelligence. Subject to completion of financing, the agreement calls for AAFC to produce a series of television documentaries featuring Dr. Greer's ideas and opinions regarding the existence of extraterrestrial life. AAFC has six months, with an optional six-month extension, to secure financing. Greer is the Founder and International Director of the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI). According to CSETI, Dr. Greer has met with and provided briefings to senior military intelligence and government officials, in the United States, and around the world.
American Artist also completed a joint venture agreement with the Franklin, TN based THC Entertainment, LLC for the co-production of its second feature film, currently titled "The Last Sunrise." The agreement calls for a joint production effort and is contingent upon the completion of financing within a six-month period, with an option for an additional six-month period. THC's principles, Keith Thomas, Joe Hogue, and Don Casselman, have a number of Oscar, Emmy, Clio, Effie, and Addy nominations and awards. Its members have composed and produced music for numerous record companies, motion picture soundtracks, television programming, advertising campaigns, and promotions. Thomas, THC's President, was nominated this past year for a Grammy for Producer of the Year, for his work with Amy Grant, Vanessa Williams, Michael Bolton, Luther Vandross, and Brian Mcknight. Thomas also produced "Colors of the Wind," which received an Academy Award for Best Song for a Motion Picture from Walt Disney's hit movie "Pocahontas." "The Last Sunrise" is in pre-production and is currently planned as AAFC's second feature film project following the completion of principal photography on "False River," which is now in post production.
Principal photography for "False River" took place over a four week period and included locations throughout Georgia. Rex Hauck, President of American Artists Films, explains that many factors contributed to the rapid completion including a great crew and cast, favorable weather conditions, an effective production schedule, and the availability of ideal locations. "False River" is a quirky comedy that explores a small town's inhabitants and their eccentric behavior. The story focuses on the events following an escape of the story's two main characters from an insane asylum, and their bizarre and unexpected crossing of paths.
