Creative Club Announces Scholarships Creative Club Announces Scholarships The Creative Club of Atlanta (CCA) announced the scholarship winners for the best student portfolio in the Southeast. Andy Linardatos, a Copywriter from Portfolio Center, came in first place winning $1,100, and Clark Hook, an Art Director from The Creative Circus, came in second place winning $500. Jim Newbury, CCA President, explains that the awards increase awareness of the talent in the Southeast. CCA sent a call for entries to top advertising and design schools in the Southeast. The schools were asked to submit one student portfolio from any discipline, and give a brief reason why they chose him, or her. Schools contacted were Virginia Commonwealth University, Miami Ad School, Portfolio Center, University of Texas, University of Georgia, Georgia State, The Creative Circus, Atlanta College of Art, Auburn University, SCAD, Full Sail, Flagler College, Art Institute of Atlanta, and Ringling. The judging, held in early June, was completed by a group of advertising and design professionals. The panel included Newbury, Dianna Thorington-Haney, Don Chambers, Bill Shirk, Bob Wages, Sue Shirk, and Karen Strelecki.
