DESIGN Coup Scores A Coup DESIGN Coup Scores A Coup Bruce Miller and Designer Michael Higgins started DESIGN Coup, a new strategic communications company, after a successful two year stint running the creative department for CheckFree Corporation. At CheckFree, Miller and Higgins staged a "design coup," bringing fresh energy and focus to the company's marketing effort. They won this year's Grand Award for Marketing Excellence from the Georgia State Marketing Roundtable for their CheckFree E-Bill campaign.

CheckFree then decided to close the creative department and outsource advertising and creative to a national agency. Miller and Higgins realized that between the two of them they had done work for 15 Fortune 500 companies, and decided to join forces. Three of CheckFree's divisions then decided to work with DESIGN Coup rather than a bigger agency. The most recent design coup occurred when three CheckFree marketing executives went to new corporations and hired Miller and Higgins for their communications design.
