Sid Smith Receives Lifetime Achievement Award Sid Smith Receives Lifetime Achievement Award Sidney Smith, Chairman of the Board, West Wayne, Inc., has been chosen for the Atlanta Ad Club's Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is presented to an advertising professional who has excelled throughout his or her career and has consistently and significantly contributed to the Atlanta advertising community. The award is given at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Ad Club, and is in recognition of the commitment to excellence in all facets of the advertising industry. The only other recipient of the award is Jack Walz of BBDO South.

Smith joined the Tucker Wayne & Co. (merging in 1996 to form WestWayne) in 1969 and has held various positions in adverting management and account service. This year American Cyanamid and BellSouth Corporation, two of the accounts under Smith's direct supervision, were awarded Silver and Gold EFFIES from the American Marketing Association for marketing effectiveness. In addition, his accounts have won numerous other awards over the years, including a Cannes Lion.

Smith led high profile accounts at Darcy and BBDO, and also spent time working with Proctor and Gamble. In addition to account work, Smith has found time to actively contribute his time to the Metro Atlanta Boys and Girls Clubs, the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Children's Wish Foundation, the Roswell Historical Society, and the Salvation Army Capital Fund.
