Atlanta Ad Club Honors Albert And McNeil Atlanta Ad Club Honors Albert And McNeil B.A. Albert, Partner and Creative Director of MATCH, Inc., was chosen for Atlanta Ad Club's Silver Medal Award. The award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Atlanta advertising, and who has been active in furthering industry standards, creative excellence, and responsibility in areas of social concern. Industry contemporaries nominate potential award winners. Other nominees this year included Geoffrey Nixon, President and CEO, Austin Kelley Advertising; Billy Payne, Chairman, Orchestrate.com; Sidney L. Smith, Chairman, WestWayne, Inc.; and Joanne Truffelman, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, T.G. Madison. Previous recipients include: Cathy Coffey, Cox Newspapers; Dave Fitzgerald, Fitzgerald & Company; Spurgeon Richardson, Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau; and Norm Grey, The Creative Circus.
Albert has been honored with many industry creative awards including One Show, Clio, ShowSouth, New York Art Directors Club, and local and national Addys. She is a three-time ADWEEK All-Star Team member, and was named to the Best TV Team by the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Albert formed MATCH, Inc. in 1996 after 23 years experience with agencies such as The Morrison Agency, West & Company, Burton-Campbell, NW Ayer, D'Arcy, Cargill Wilson Acree, and Pringle Dixon Pringle, working on such national brand assignments as Budweiser, Johnson Outboard Motors, and Publix. In addition to account work, Albert also actively participates in such charities as the Lillian Dumont Foundation, the Task Force for the Homeless, and AIDS Atlanta.
Bob McNeil, President and CEO of IMAGES USA, received the Young Advertising Professional Award. The Atlanta Ad Club award recognizes young, talented advertising professionals that contribute significantly to their organization and community. McNeil was one of six top young advertising executives nominated in 1998 to receive this honor. Other nominees included Chad Boyd, IntelliNet; Scott Chalk, TNT; Carol Flammer, Carroll/White Advertising; Marci Raible, BellSouth; and Alicia Thompson, Fletcher Martin Associates.
McNeil formed IMAGES while attending Georgia Tech. With his leadership, the company has grown to include multi-national corporations, local businesses, national sports bodies, retail authorities, non-profit organizations, and manufacturers. Initially, his client list included Lockheed Corporation, Members Only, and The Pan American Games, but he soon expanded that list to include Coors Brewing Company and The Georgia Lottery. McNeil is also involved with the American Marketing Association, USMC National Diversity Council, and the CDC National Minority Healthcare Outreach Taskforce. In addition, McNeil has joined hands with Aid Atlanta, My Brothers Keeper, P.L.A.Y., and the Boys & Girls Club.
The recipients were selected by a distinguished panel of judges, and will receive their awards at the Ritz Carlton in Buckhead on Friday, November 13.
