The store was packed, not with customers, but with actors, film crew, and equipment. The result is three high-energy TV spots created by Blue Marble Media and co-directed by Principals Cara Maron Barineau and Ben Barineau. Tom Menosky, National Marketing Director of The Athletes Foot, says he had looked forward to working with the team since Blue Marble Media produced an award winning training video for The Athlete's Foot in 1997.
Unveiled at the chain's national franchisee meeting in June, the :30 commercials showcase fashion, fit, and performance. Key audiences are urban, suburban, and back-to-school consumers. To deliver the message, Blue Marble invented light hearted scenarios with memorable characters, seen by viewers through a fish eye lens. Shot on 35mm film, the finished spots feature rapid fire editing, special effects, and original music tailored to each audience. The shoot required a cast of 17 actors and extras and a crew of 19, with Helena Johnston producing. Tim Glover was the Director of Photography for the shoot.
