Macquarium Throws A Bash Macquarium Throws A Bash To celebrate the move into their new building, as well as the company's new animation division, Fathom Studios, Macquarium Intelligent Communications threw an open house for over 750 industry, media and corporate leaders. The Macquarium Building, located at 1800 Peachtree Street, is the new home of the high tech interactive development company and Fathom Studios. Macquarium created the new division to focus on the growing need for animated content. Fathom utilizes state-of-the-art hardware and software to create content for all types of media. Animation services include interface design, product prototyping, VRML, video games, broadcast/film effects, and scientific, medical, legal and architectural visualization.

Macquarium kicked off the party paying tribute to clients by displaying case studies of recent projects highlighted in the company's gallery. Guests were invited downstairs to witness the capabilities of MacQuarium's newly completed 75-seat auditorium featuring a state of the art Sony DLP video projector and cinema screen that is the first of its kind in Georgia. As a part of the video presentation, Macquarium previewed its recently completed :90 3D concept computer generated by Fathom Studios.

The auditorium was designed by Atlanta audio and video consultants, Waveguide Consulting, and the architectural firm Stang & Newdow. It offers an entire realm of commercial, industrial, and broadcast media equipment including DVD and satellite devices. For presentations, PC, Macintosh, and SGI workstation can be easily connected to the system for an enhanced multimedia experience. In addition, laptop computers may be conveniently hooked into the network from any seat in the auditorium. Accompanying the auditorium's cutting-edge video equipment is a top-of-the-line 2700 watt THX digital surround sound system. With the same speakers as those used in IMAXÆ theaters throughout the nation, the system delivers superior audio capabilities. For voice transmission, an automated speech reinforcement system combined with optimal room acoustics provides for natural communications between presenters and audience members.
