THE BIG SPACE SHUTTLE is a live-action adventure that takes kids behind the scenes to see a space shuttle assembled, watch astronauts train for a mission, and follow a mission from launch to landing. They meet the crew of the space shuttle Columbia, including Pilot Susan Still, and hear of their childhood dreams to become astronauts. They also get to visit a space camp for kids and experience being an astronaut. The program was filmed on location at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, at Mission Control in Houston, and at the Very Large Array telescopes in the middle of the New Mexico desert.
