Tom Race Joins Synchronized Sound Tom Race Joins Synchronized Sound Tom Race joined Synchronized Sound as Chief Audio Engineer. Race's many years of experience and considerable knowledge in the fields of music and audio for picture make him a welcome asset. Race is a serious player in the professional audio industry, having held such titles as Chief Engineer at Apogee Studios, Cheshire Sound Studios, Crawford, and most recently Catspaw Studios. Over the years he has recorded music for Molly Hatchet, Kenny Loggins, Sammy Hagar, Narada Michael Walden, Wet Willie, Boston, The Commodores, Mother's Finest, Kansas, The Miles Brothers, Alicia Bridges, Mike Greene (Polygram, two albums), Korona (United Artists), Bohannon (Polygram), and Alias (Polygram). Perhaps the most exciting recording in his early career was the CBS/TABU recording artists, The SOS Band, who recorded the single "Take Your Time" which went platinum.

Later achievements included three albums for the group Cameo, with Larry Blackmon producing. All three albums produced hit singles. "Alligator Woman" and " She's Strange" were both number one albums on the R&B and Dance charts. During that period, Race also did projects with Prince, Sheila E, Peabo Bryson, Charlie Singleton, Steve Walsh, El Debarge, Frankie Beverly and Maize, and many other major label artists. In 1985, Race joined the staff at Crawford Post Production. He worked with Kansas' Producer, Phil Ehart, on music for the movie Vacation II, European Vacation. Race also recorded two songs with Producer Spike Lee for the feature film School Days.

Race's work includes sound design and mixing of the EMMY award wining Time Life series "Lost Civilizations," music for the passing of the Olympic torch in Barcelona, Spain, 1992 Olympics, recording, sweetening, and mixing the winning presentation for Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games, recording, sweetening, and mixing the winning presentation for Atlanta Super Bowl, sweetening and mixing Peabody Award winning television movie, Little Boy King, and sweetening and mixing Peabody Award winning TBS documentary "Without Borders". He also completed music packages for TBS, CNN, Space Ghost, Tribune Broadcasting, and many others. Race also worked on the MGM episodic television series "In the Heat of the Night" for three seasons, mixed the show for television and international distribution, recorded the score, ADR and Foley for several episodes and completed commercials and jingles for Coca-Cola, McDonalds, American Express, Trust Company, Georgia Federal, Bank South, AFLAC, Orkin, The United States Marines, and others. Race also pioneered multi-channel delivery of film and video projects while at Crawford. These projects included films for: The Hallmark Museum in Kansas City, "Stock Car Showdown" for NASCAR, and "A Day in the South" for The Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau.
