The Winner Is . . . The Winner Is . . . Big winners grinned ear to ear at The Creative Club of Atlanta's ShowSouth 98 Awards Presentation, held before a sold out crowd at the Georgia Pacific Auditorium in Atlanta. EAI of Atlanta claimed the Graphic Design Best of Show Award for the Tabula Rasa Corporate Brochure produced for Appleton Paper. EAI also received three gold awards in Graphic Design.
Other outstanding advertising winners were Fitzgerald & Company of Atlanta with four golds and eight silvers; newcomer Huey/Paprocki, Ltd. of Atlanta with three golds and two silvers, and graphic design firm i.e. design of Atlanta walked away with two gold awards.
This year was the first time that interactive categories were included in the show. frogfire Digital of Atlanta was the big interactive winner with one gold and one silver. Melia Design Group won two golds for their interactive CD for Dickson's.
Student Best of Show for advertising was awarded to Bryan Deutsch and Alison Forsyth of Creative Circus for their Faucets Print Campaign. The David Cooper Memorial Student Graphic Design Best of Show award went to Steve Kull of Portfolio Center for his "Pure" poster. Students receive cash awards, and one dollar for every entry in the show is dedicated to an annual student scholarship award made by the Creative Club of Atlanta.
ShowSouth is an annual, regional creative awards competition sponsored by the Creative Club of Atlanta. Over 1,850 entries where received from an eleven state area this year. Corporate sponsors for ShowSouth 98 were iXL, ADWEEK, and Seven Worldwide.
